J. Cole has announced that his next single will be 'Nobody's Perfect' featuring Missy Elliott - the track is off of his debut album COLE WORLD: THE SIDELINE STORY - available in store and iTunes now!

Explaining why he chose Missy to feature on the track, Cole told RealTalkNY: "When I was doing the album I did two songs, 'Mr. Nice Watch' and 'Nobody's Perfect' with Missy. I did the beats, did the raps, and it reminded me of like an Aaliyah song. I thought 'Damn, I wish I had Aaliyah to sing this.'"

He continued: "So I literally snapped back to when I wanted to work with Missy about a year ago but I could never make it happen. I got in touch with her management, she was nice, she was super cool about it, she was down, I sent her the song on Skype. She handed it to me the next night."

In the exclusive CNN Marquee blog post below, Missy Elliott reflects on the 10 year anniversary of her friend Aaliyah's death. Elliott writes:

Today is the 10 year anniversary of Aaliyah's passing and I'm sitting here reminiscing and playing music, thinking of the times we spent together, working, laughing, singing, dancing, cutting up. But really, it's not all that different from any other day because I do think about her every day.

Not on purpose, but she is my friend and that's just how I do. I've told the same stories for 9 years how we met, how me and Tim were scared but Aaliyah was so welcoming and had this smile and way about her that put us at ease, that she liked to take chances and we were able to just be who we were and make good records together.

She loved playing jokes and that's another part of her personality that made it fun to be around her. As a talent, I think she's missed because she was unique and a true triple threat. She could sing, dance, and her acting was starting to take off.

I'm glad for the memories I have and the time we got to spend together, but I miss my friend.

I was diagnosed with Grave's Disease about three years ago but it really hasn't slowed me down at all. I rocked my performance on VH1 Hip Hop Honors' tribute to Timbaland last year. I've written and produced a bunch of Grammy-nominated, #1 hits for artists like Keyshia Cole, Monica and Jasmine Sullivan. I toured the UK, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. And on top of all that, I'm working on my new album. I feel great. Under my doctor's supervision, I've been off medication for about a year and I'm completely managing the condition through diet and exercise."
